“I was brought up in a west-facing Norfolk long house. The sun always set across the fields, streaming in through the kitchen window. Those were wonderful evenings, laughing around the kitchen table and eating supper with my family.
However, my parents were often stressed. Stressed about money. They worked hard. They saved frantically. They never went on holiday. They are now retired. Whilst they are not poor, they have lived their entire lives worried about finance.
They are fantastic parents, and I value them immensely. But I always wanted them to have more time to enjoy themselves on their journey without worrying so much about finances.
